Anthony Raynard wins 1st Supermotard

Anthony Raynard entered and won his 1st Motard race at the Cape Town National

After riding the motard twice before that was on loan from Lourens van Rensburg of Enduro Tours Africa he decided to enter the S2 class at the National.

Qualifying went ok and he was 4th fastest, going into Heat 1 he jumped the start slightly and was later penalized but the race was on non the less. Lying 5th on the 1st lap Anthony put his head down and started turning out some cracker laptimes. He made his way up and passed Brian Capper trained Wade Roger-Lund for 1st and checked out only to find out at the end he was docked 30sec for the jump on the start that relegated him to 4th.

Moto 2 Saw him overshoot the 1st turn and end up 7th on the 1st lap. He once again put his head down and starting moving up through the pack, the crowd were going nuts and it was awsome racing from the Motard Virgin and on the last lap made a do or die pass on Wade Roger-Lund in the dirt and pull a lead to take the win.

Overall he was 2nd for the day posting laptimes 3 sec a lap faster than 2nd place. It now looks like we off to the Motard Naitonals for the remainder of the year!!
